Looking for some bookish gifts for your young bookworms this Christmas? Want to stoke a love of reading? I’m sure you’ll find something to love on this list!

Book Box

For family bonding with young children, I love this book box from Literaseeds. They’ve gone through some changes and are now more affordable and come in either one or four month bundles.

Along with two books specific to your child(ren)’s age, each box contains goodies for both parent and child along with beautiful art cards to encourage reading together. Check out the photos below for samples of what comes in each box.

Even better, I’ve got a GIVEAWAY of a starter box from Literaseeds happening on Instagram! Head over there for your chance to win before Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10 pm Central.

(Disclosure: I received a free box from Literaseeds, no strings attached, and they graciously agreed to sponsor a giveaway when I asked. Opinions expressed are my own.)

Magazine Subscription

As a writer who has contributed to several children’s magazines, I think this is a fun option! What kid doesn’t love getting mail? My top pick for girls around 8 – 12 is Wildflowers: A Creative Magazine for Girls. I’ve been the poetry contributor for this past year, and it’s been a lot of fun to see the beautiful, sturdy magazine come out each season. Wildflowers issues five magazines each year: one per season plus a Christmas issue. Here’s a picture of the lovely fall issue below. The magazines have been available one issue at a time until now, but I’ve been told subscriptions should be up very soon (possibly this week).

Next Book in a Favorite Series

Have you checked if any of your kids favorite series have a new book out? Here are a few my kids are excited to get there hands on! The Wreck and Rise of Whitson Mariner is the newest book in the Green Ember Series. The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden is the followup to The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street, which was our favorite read aloud this year. Cilla Lee-Jenkins This Book is a Classic is the second in a series of Ramona-esc chapter books for young readers.

A Glimpse of Narnia

I love this Narnian art by Jamin Still! If your child is always trying to escape to Narnia through a wardrobe, these prints will make their room a little more magical.

Bookish Finds on Etsy

I love all the unique items you can find on Etsy! And there’s plenty of perfect gifts for bookworms!

These literary pins from Fable and Black on Etsy are perfect stocking stuffers!

I love this bookish Art by Lee White!

Art prints make great gifts for young bookworms. I love these prints from children’s author and illustrator Pamala Zagarenski. The one below is from Sleep Like a Tiger.

Art prints from picture book illustrator Alison Jay, author of Picture This… make great gifts for the youngest bookworms in your life.

For the Audio-Bookworm

You can’t beat a subscription to Audible, or even a couple new audiobooks for Christmas! And maybe something fun to do with your hands at the same time like Thinking Putty or a coloring book!

And A Little Something for Yourself…

Like, maybe, these literary themed chocolate bars from Open Book Chocolates! Choose from Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, and more. The Alice in Wonderland chocolate below is candied rose petals in mild chocolate!
